Malappuram FC vs Thrissur Magic FC: Super League Kerala Preview
Two sides still chasing their first win of the season meet at Payyanad Stadium.
Competition: Super League Kerala (SLK) 2026
Fixture: Malappuram FC vs Thrissur Magic FC
Date: Saturday, 17 October 2026
Kick-off: 7:30 PM IST
Venue: Payyanad Stadium, Malappuram1
Where both teams stand
As of the most recently available table (after matches played through 4 October), both sides sit in the bottom half without a win yet this season — Malappuram FC on 1 point from two matches (0W, 1D/L, -1 GD), and Thrissur Magic FC also on 1 point from two (0W, 1D/L, -1 GD).2 Both have played further fixtures since that table was published, so check the live table on matchday for the exact picture — but going into this one, it shapes up as a genuine six-pointer for either side looking to get its season moving.
In SLK's round-robin league phase, every point counts toward the top-four cutoff for the semi-final playoffs — so an early-season match between two winless sides is far from meaningless.

New to SLK? Catch up first
If you're coming to Kerala's district-based football for the first time, a couple of things are worth knowing before kick-off: standard football scoring applies (3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss), and SLK runs a double round-robin league phase before the top four go into knockout semi-finals.4 If an offside call causes confusion during the match, the rule works exactly the same as in any league — here's how offside actually works.
KickZone Take
Neither Malappuram nor Thrissur Magic has found a win yet this season, which makes this less of a formality and more of a genuine chance for either side to shift their early campaign. Worth tuning into legally on Zee5 or Unite8 Sports rather than waiting for highlights.
